Historical Context
Editorially reviewedKenmon Shokamon (c. 1467–1470) already draws piled kikkō as a warrior-house mark for Nikaidō Fukayabe and, separately, kikkō used as a frame around other charges. Those two uses must not be collapsed. Later named compounds — Azai’s 1589 portrait type, Rokugō’s Edo daimyo cut — are not this Kenmon jōmon. The type-name mitsu-mori kikkō is a later label on the Muromachi drawing.
Provenance: Kenmon Shokamon pairs three piled hexagonal plates with Nikaidō Fukayabe. Azai 三盛二重亀甲に花菱 is cited only as a c. 1589 Jimyōin memorial-portrait type, not as Kenmon hereditary jōmon. Sōma kikkō remains unconfirmed.

Kenmon Shokamon (見聞諸家紋), compiled c. 1467–1470. Album of house-paired drawings; later catalogues apply type-names as labels on those drawings, not as Muromachi captions on the plates.
Supports: Warrior type of three piled hexagonal plates for Nikaidō Fukayabe. Separately uses kikkō as an enclosure (kikkō-ni katabami, kikkō-ni kiri, and others); those are different types.
Jimyōin memorial portrait of Azai Nagamasa, c. 1589
Azai 三盛二重亀甲に花菱 is a c. 1589 Jimyōin memorial-portrait type for Nagamasa, not a hereditary Kenmon jōmon.
Supports: Named in the approved meaning so the Azai piled double kikkō with hanabishi is not substituted for the Fukayabe Kenmon triple.
