Historical Context
Greek art shows the Chimaera as a hybrid with lion, goat, and serpent parts, defeated by Bellerophon riding Pegasos. Later flame-breathing descriptions strengthened its fiery image. This flame crest isolates that modern emphasis and is not an ancient Corinthian insignia.
Provenance: Contemporary crest informed by the ancient Greek hybrid and Bellerophon narrative.
Context note: Avoids treating every later three-animal hybrid or the modern word chimera as identical to the Greek creature.
