Historical Context
Egyptian sphinxes joined a ruler's head to a lion body as royal imagery, while Greek artists developed female-headed, winged sphinxes that could guard graves. A single crowned sphinx therefore crosses distinct histories. This seal is a modern synthesis, not an ancient type.
