Pegasos is the winged horse ridden by Bellerophon in ancient Greek images of the Chimaera battle. Stars are not required attributes in that scene, and the modern crest does not copy the surviving kylix. Its upward, celestial emphasis is an editorial interpretation.

Context note: Separates ancient Greek evidence from later claims that Pegasus universally represents aspiration or spiritual ascent.
