Historical Context

Medieval European bestiaries describe the dragon as the king of serpents and often show its long body coiling around an elephant. Manuscript forms vary considerably. This circular coil condenses that body language into a new emblem rather than reproducing one manuscript image.

Provenance: Contemporary coiled-dragon emblem informed by medieval bestiary manuscripts.

Context note: Limited to selected European sources and not presented as a universal account of dragons across world cultures.
